The MaineCat policy states: Newly acquired items may be excluded from MaineCat for a period of up to three months in order to meet local demand. These items should not be loaded into MaineCat until such an embargo is lifted and items are requestable when available.

1. Select “e” for ICODE2 when creating an item record which you want to embargo for 3 months.
2. Maine InfoNet will remove the “e” three months after the item record was created.
3. If you have created the item record much earlier than the item is in hand, you may delete the on order item record and attach a new one. 
4. As an alternative to manually changing the ICODE2 for each new record, you can change the ICODE2 in the template you use for creating a new item.
