Attendance
In October Katherine sent out reminders to libraries that were in the “red zone” of meetings. “Red zone” indicates libraries that have attended or viewed one meeting or less in 2016. She will not be sending out anymore reminders this year.
This is the last meeting for the 2016 calendar year. Remember that your library needs to attend or view three meetings in a calendar year. If your library hasn’t done so by January 15, 2017 than your library’s ability to bring in records from Z39.5 or create new records will be taken away until the required three meetings have been fulfilled.

RDA Fields (remember that you can search for specific RDA fields using Google)
Please use the Maine InfoNet (MIN) web site as you can find answers to most of your cataloging questions. Also, please read over the Minerva Acceptable Cataloging Standards to know what you need to have in a bibliographic record that meets the Minerva cataloging standards.
001 field – there needs to be an OCLC number of remove the field
020 field – when bringing in a Z39.5 record only keep the ISBN that matches the record you
have in your hand. Remove all subfield and text after the ISBN.
263 field is used for projected publication dates. Please remove this field once the item has been published.
264 field – Google PCC Guidelines for more information about the 264 field
It is not necessary to have both 264 fields in a bibliographic record
If there is a publication date do not use brackets
If there is a publication and copyright dates are different use 264 _1 and 264 _4
008 field if there are two different dates in 264 field put both dates in 008
DAT TYPE s= single date t=publication and copyright for two different dates
300 field – Remove (large print) from this field
340 field – to indicate large print use this: 340 |nLarge print
336m 337, 338 – these fields are still causing confusion with catalogers. There are documents on the MIN web site that has links for each 3XX field and record examples.
The Minerva RDA Standard Guide has examples of bibliographic records that you can use when in doubt.
Relationship designators Yale University is a good place to look for detailed music relationship designators.
The Library of Congress has a lot of useful documentation for RDA.
MACR 21 https://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/ – has documentation and examples for MARC fields, spacing and punctuation. If you see (r) that means the field is repeatable.

MARC Edit http://marcedit.reeset.net/
Lynn gave a presentation on how to use MARC Edit. This is free software that coverts MARC to a text file so you can edit information. There is a forum that you can ask questions about MARC Edit and/or find answers to your questions.
