MSCS partner Bates College have posted an excellent explanation of the MSCS Retention Copy note which patrons will see when they look at a results list after searching the Bates library catalog.

MSCS representatives Mathew Revitt & Deb Rollins to present at the New England Library Association Conference in Portland on Monday October 21 8:30 – 9:45. Their presentation is titled “United We Stand: A Collaborative Approach to Legacy Print Collections”.

MSCS IFLA paper published
MSCS Program Manager Matthew and Project PI Dr. Clem Guthro’s paper for the 2013 International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress in Singapore had been published. Matthew and Clem will be presenting their paper on Monday 19 August 2013 13:45 – 15:45.

Exciting news! Portland Public Library is the first MSCS partner to disclose retention commitments
Portland Public Library is the first MSCS partner library to disclose retention commitments for print monographs in their local catalog. A big thank you to the MSCS System Librarian Sara Amato and Brian Damien & Sarah Campbell at Portland Public Library for making this happen. Good job!
MSCS Collection Summaries now available
The MSCS Collections Summaries produced by Sustainable Collection Service (SCS) are now available. The summaries are categorical overviews of the group data set and have been used to guide retention scenario development.
