The Maine Shared Collections Strategy is pleased to announce the release of their Shared Print Agreements for Monographs: A User’s Manual. The manual provides advice on shared print based on experiences at MSCS. We hope other projects will find it a useful resource.

MSCS release retention commitment change policy & transfer procedure
The Maine Shared Collections Strategy have produced a policy and procedure to address situations when libraries identify on a limited title-by-title basis (i.e., not in large batches) titles which should have their retention commitment removed or transferred to another library. MSCS May 2014 update report is now available
The May 2014 MSCS update report is now available. The report covers the last six months of MSCS activities and has been submitted to the MSCS Advisory Board as a our final report to them.

MSCS library UMaine joins HathiTrust
The University of Maine/Fogler Library is now officially a partner of the HathiTrust digital library. Patrons of the University of Maine will be able to download full PDF versions of most public domain titles in the HathiTrust, conduct full-text searches (including for in-copyright material), have access to material covered under Section 108 of the Copyright Act, and print disability access to materials the University of Maine own (or owned).
MaineCat POD test period over
The Print-On-Demand service has been taken offline in MaineCat. This is because the IMLS grant funds used to test the service have been exhausted. However, the MSCS Project Team are currently investigating different options to bring it back online.
